Shawn
Hello, my name is Shawn. I’m a native Texan. Except for six years in San Diego, the Dallas area has always been my home. I started working in the dental field before dentists wore gloves, so this was probably in the mid 1980’s. I joined Dr. Crawford’s practice in 2005. Like the rest of the team I have multiple responsibilities but my key roles are that of clinical assistant and lab tech. I help Dr. Crawford make all the removable appliances used for our patients, produce all the study models of patients' teeth for diagnosis and sterilize the instruments. It is also my responsibility to schedule equipment maintenance and repair and monitor the sterilizers. What I love about my job is developing relationships with my patients as we help improve each patient’s smile. My goal is to do my best every day and treat everyone in a kind a caring manner. I also pride myself on taking really great impressions of your teeth. Being a male staff member also seems to help me calm some of the young male patients when they feel afraid. These “little guys” seem to feel good when their Dad is sitting with them and another male is tending to their braces. In my personal time I enjoy gardening, fishing, kite flying and spending time at Lake Fork. I am very proud of my large greenhouse and even larger garden. Most of the beautiful plants at the office have come from my greenhouse and I tend to all of the plants at the office. Presently, I am the president of the Bromeliad Society and enjoy teaching people of all ages about orchids and bromeliads. I really enjoy helping my friends and patients start new gardens. Like the rest of the staff I love animals. I have four dogs, five rabbits and a horse. I collect T-shirts from different countries and I am proud to a part of the Crawford team. |
Mitz
Kumusta! My name is Mitz. I was born and raised in the Philippines but Texas has been my home for more than 20 years. I began working in the dental industry in my 20’s and began working for Dr. Crawford in 2006. What I love about my job is meeting people who ultimately become lifelong friends as we care for them in our practice. My goal in my job is to help put our patients at ease by caring for them in a friendly, informative and professional manner. It gives me great joy to help patients achieve the smiles they have always dreamt of. My key role in our practice is that of clinical assistant. I am responsible for all of the digital photography of our patients so I have the special opportunity to be able to observe the transformation of our patients’ smiles as we treat them with high tech braces and Invisalign. I help Dr. Crawford with submission of her treatment plans to Invisalign and work closely with our Invisalign territory manager as she helps Dr. Crawford prepare her lectures and teaching cases for presentation. In my personal life I enjoy spending lots of time with my niece and nephew. I am their greatest fan at all their sporting events. I also enjoy yoga, distance running, traveling to the mountains and reading. I especially enjoy reading books recommended by our patients and then discussing them with them. I am very involved in my church, charitable events in my community and also enjoy spending time with my friends. |
